Meet our new bookkeeper! April Dalangin currently works and lives in Colorado as a full-time nurse, part-time group fitness instructor (Zumba, MixxedFit & HIIT classes), and now remote bookkeeper for Hawk Music Academy!

 

Born in New Jersey, April moved around a lot being both an Army brat and wife. April graduated from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs with a Bachelor's in Biology/Health Sciences and also received her nursing license in Colorado. April has worked in many areas, including human resources, payroll, marketing, administration and nursing director.

 

Growing up, April was exposed to many experiences and activities including various academic competitions (i.e. state spelling bee, Odyssey of the Mind and Math Olympiad to name a few), as well as cheer competitions and several martial arts tournaments. April loves to draw and as a child, played the piano for a few years until it was taken over by martial arts. April achieved her black belt in karate at age 12 and continued to advance her martial arts career in Tang Soo Do and Tae Kwon Do through high school.

 

April has two daughters, Tana (26) and Gianna (14), and a sweet, 7-year-old pittie named Bruno. In her spare time, April enjoys spending time with her daughter, Gianna (Tana now lives in Texas working on her Master's), trying new restaurants with friends, cooking, and going to the movies. April loves being a nurse and always wanted to take care of others since she was a little girl, but her retirement plan is to be a waitress in a diner or own her own small cafe close to a beach! FUN FACTS about April: her favorite color is green, her favorite is Mexican, she can flip her tongue upside down, AND she's Dr. Dawn Hawk's big sister!
