TODDLER TUNES
Our Toddler Tunes program is for ages 18 months through early 4 year olds. The goal of our TT program is to set up each student for a successful transition into traditional private lessons, which are typically for ages 4 through adults, and focus on a specific instrument. In the Group Classes, students engage in singing/playing/dancing, rhythm activities, games, and more, to understand concepts such as a steady beat, high versus low pitches, loud versus soft sounds, and note reading. In the Private Lessons, the same concepts are reinforced with a focus on playing specific instruments when the student is ready.
Each new student can receive a free 30 minute trial lesson at a mutually agreed time. Going forward, a set day and time is scheduled for each student, based on the student’s and teacher’s availability. Students are expected to attend their lessons weekly from August through May, generally following the Forsyth County school calendar, with breaks during the major holidays. Lessons during the Summer Session are more flexible.
TT students will have a 30-minute weekly private lesson and a bimonthly 45-minute group class. The private lesson time allows instructors to focus on each student's musical capabilities and are generally scheduled Monday through Friday from 1:00-3:00 PM. Earlier slots may be available, depending on instructor availability. The group classes will be held 8 times per semester on Saturdays from 9:00-9:45 AM in Room 101-C. In these classes, students engage in ensemble singing and playing, rhythm activities, games, and more!
