PHILIP HODGES

Philip Hodges Jr. is a multi-instrumentalist and composer with a lifelong passion for music. Beginning classical guitar studies at age five, he progressed to performing works by Fernando Sor and Matteo Carcassi by eleven. His musical journey expanded when he discovered the piano, leading to a deep appreciation for jazz and improvisation. During his time at Christian Fine Arts of Forsyth (CFAF), Philip played various instruments in marching band and orchestra, ultimately serving as first trumpet in both the high school marching and jazz bands.

Philip’s interest in composition and recording began early, using his father’s 4-track cassette recorder to create four-part harmonies from sheet music. As technology advanced, he embraced digital tools like GarageBand and Notion to compose more intricate pieces, with a particular fondness for orchestral arrangements. At Hawk Music Academy, Philip is excited to share his diverse musical background and inspire students in their own musical endeavors.
